From the Papal visit to England
Sep. 19th, 2010 11:44 pm"In our search for unity, it is the unholy that divides us"
(E.B. Pusey, quoted by the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury to Pope Benedict during his visit to England)
E.B. Pusey was a close friend of Newman and co-founder with him of the Oxford Movement in the 1830s. Pusey remained in the Church of England, Newman converted to Catholicism in 1845, ended his life a Cardinal and has just been canonized by the Pope. The words are part of Pusey's meditation on the parting of his and Newman's ways.
