Orthodox Romanticism

A friend of mine drew my attention to this new Orthodox blog in French: http://vie-orthodoxe.blogspot.com/.

It is more or less a copy of an English one: http://orthodoxwayoflife.blogspot.com

It may be the mid-Lent blues, but I am beginning to get heartily sick of this type of ‘Orthodox Romanticism’, all startsi and icons. There is something uncomfortably escapist about it.  As someone said: ‘at some time we have to stop reading about first class saints and start to become fourth-class saints ourselves’.
