Am I the only Orthodox not much looking forward to Christmas? 

Is it the Julian calendar?  Christmas has been and gone in Belgium. The sales have started. On Christmas day (Julian) my customers will all be back at their desks after the Christmas break, the schools will have started.

Is it the fact that a Monday Christmas means five celebrations in a row - Saturday liturgy, Saturday vigil, Sunday liturgy, Sunday vigil and Monday liturgy – in our overheated, under-oxygenated mini-cathedral?

Is it that I am between generations: kids have grown up and flown the nest, and no grandchildren in sight – so the ‘children’ side of Christmas is not there.

Or is it the celebration itself?
