La belle lumière de la France (неповторимый свет Франции)

Yesterday I drove to France to see my spiritual director prior to my ordination to the diaconate. It was a rough journey down there: a snowstorm reduced traffic in and around Paris to a snail's pace.

But south of Paris there was almost no snow, and this wonderful light which sort of becomes softer and literally 'lighter' as you move southwards. I rejoice in it every time.
