Whatever my good wife may think, I am definitely not the most photogenic deacon in the Russian Orthodox Church !!

Also at the altar:
Archbishop Simon; priests Antoni and Serge, deacons Alexander, Alexander and Vladimir, reader Viktor, altar boys Stansislaw, Daniel and Anton. (With me that makes 6 nationalities, it used to be 7, but our Bulgarian altarnik traded us for a monastery on Mount Athos...)

Интересно, почему. В случае священнической - это более-менее понятно (обручение пастве...), а для дьякона?

No, I still have mine.
The practice seems dubious to me: one reason for a wedding ring, especially if you are still young and attractive, is to tell women other than your wife that you are ‘off limits’, and to remind you that other women are also ‘off limits’ to you. In the days when priests and deacons wore cassocks all day, this had the same effect. Now that they don't, the practice seems to increase moral hazard.
Does it mean that would-be priests and deacons marry with curtain rings?

Для меня практика снимания кольца после хиротонии не совсем понятна. Всё что мне говорили, так это то, что священник обручается приходу и поэтому снимает обручальное кольцо. Мне этот символизм кажется натянутым, женат я всё таки на своей жене:)

У фотографов есть дурная привычка фотографировать дьякона во время пения Символа Веры. Должен сказать, что гримасы на фото в этот момент получаются очень выразительные:) можно детей пугать:)

Они приятные потому, что я безжалостно выкинула три четверти отснятого материала сразу. А Майкл потом еще выбирал из оставшихся.
