At this strange conference, I scribbled the above note to my neighbour, a senior executive in one of Belgium's few multinationals:
"This question of meanings/values, is it because for most Belgians the business enterprise is the only collectivity that still gives meaning to life?
We have lost - the churches
- political parites
- villages etc."
to which he replies
"... and on top of that, people are questioning the survival of the business enterprise."
